Kartal Tibet was born on March 27, 1938 in Ankara. He graduated from Ankara State Conservatory Theater Department. He worked as a theater actor in Ankara for many years. He played the leading role in the movie ‘Karaoğlan: The Yigit from Altay’, which was adapted to the cinema by the comic character Karaoğlan, created by Suat Yalaz in 1960.
The appearance of Cüneyt Arkın, one of the youngsters of the period, as the comic book characters Malkoçoğlu and Kara Murat, increased the popularity of such adventure films. Karaoğlan’s adventures, which started in Central Asia, were featured in the films Karaoğlan: Baybora’nin Son and Karaoğlan: Camoka’s Revenge, 1967, Karaoğlan: Byzantine Zorba and Karaoğlan: The Green Dragon, and 1972 Karaoğlan is Coming, starring Kartal Tibet. continued. Tibet later portrayed Tarkan, created by Sezgin Burak, in the 1969 movie Tarkan. This movie was followed by Tarkan: Gümüş Saddle in 1970, Tarkan: Viking Blood in 1971, Tarkan: Gold Medallion in 1972 and Tarkan: Strong Hero in 1973. He quit acting and started directing in 1976 with the movie Tosun Paşa.
Tibet, who made his directorial debut with the movie “Tosun Pasha” in 1977, has appeared in more than 20 Kemal SunalHe directed 56 films, most of which made good grosses.
He directed the first 13 episodes of the Super Baba series, which was broadcast between 1993 and 1997, and the TV series Zoraki Koca, which was broadcast on Kanal D in 2007. In 2008, he undertook the directorship of the Hayat Güzeldir series, which was broadcast on Show TV.
