WhatsApp, the widely used instant communication application, renewed its confidentiality agreement on January 8th. In the new contract of WhatsApp, the article “WhatsApp, which is a part of Facebook Companies, receives information from other Facebook Companies and shares information with these companies” caused great controversy. A new statement came from WhatsApp, stating that users who do not accept the new privacy agreement of WhatsApp will not be able to use the application after May 15.
According to this statement, as of today, users who do not accept WhatsApp’s new privacy agreement will not be completely deleted, but they will become unable to use the application over time. A warning notification showing that users who do not accept the contract in the following days should accept the contract on the WhatsApp screen will become permanent over time. Even if users cannot reach their chat list, they will still be able to answer voice and video calls from WhatsApp. However, within a few weeks, this feature of WhatsApp will also lose its functionality and users will only be able to download their chat history to their phones.
