The deliciously flavored jam that I cook with the orange peel and the inside is our first jam that ends at home in winter. I used the jam, which we consume for dessert, in my panettone pudding recipe that I shared with you in the past months.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Boiling time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 35 minutes
- 2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice, 400 ml
- 1/2 teaspoon of butter
- 1/2 teaspoon of lemon salt or 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
* Grate the skins of the oranges lightly with the thin side of the grater, put them in a deep saucepan, add water as if over four fingers. When the lid of the pan starts to boil, boil it for about 20 minutes. Pour the boiled oranges into cold water, change the water three times. When it is completely cooled, cut it into thin slices.
* Transfer the chopped oranges to a deep jam pan, add the orange juice, cinnamon and butter. With the lid of the pot open, cook for 30 minutes when it begins to boil over medium heat. Add lemon salt or lemon juice and turn off the stove after 4-5 minutes. When the first temperature of the jam is over, transfer it to clean glass jars and close the lids tightly, keep it in a cool place when it cools down.
